MANAGING LOCALISED IMPACTS
A series of technical studies and assessments underpin the Master Plan and outline how the transformation of the site may impact the community, environment and local infrastructure.
These studies and assessments will be available for the community to view when the Planning Proposal and State Significant Development Application are publicly exhibited.
Storm water – flow and management
The Master Plan prioritises sustainable management of stormwater runoff and aims to improve water quality, contributing to the protection and enhancement of the natural environment, whilst establishing the site as a suitable landform for future development.
Site access and traffic management – in and around the site
The landowners have commissioned traffic experts to assess potential impacts on the local road and public transport network during quarry rehabilitation.
The landowners will work closely with the adjoining landowners and Kiama Municipal Council to ensure a coordinated approach to transport planning.
Quarry land fill and batter surface stabilisation
Remediating the quarry to ensure the land is rehabilitated and prepared for future community use is a priority for the Master Plan.
The team has developed its quarry rehabilitation and fill management strategies in collaboration with technical experts to ensure they respond to the surrounding environment, minimise impacts, and meet community needs over the long term.
Environmental management – considering the surrounding landscape
Our aim is for the design, characteristics and village feel to connect, enhance and celebrate the surrounding environment.
EXPERT INVESTIGATIONS
The landowners have commissioned a team of experts in design, innovation, environment, place-making and sustainability, to ensure the Master Plan delivers the best possible outcome for the wider community.
